The Last Resort Inn from North Shore Drive

Welcome to the Last Resort Inn, a South Haven, Michigan bed and breakfast located between Lake Michigan and the City Marina. It is just a half block to the Lake on one side, a half block to the Harbor on the other side, and Town is just a ten-minute stroll across the drawbridge.

Your Innkeeper and Artist, Mary, is in her twenty-fifth season this year ... no small feat!  She and her husband, Alberto's artwork can be seen throughout the entire Inn, including The Inn Gallery, the common areas, as well as in the more contemporary penthouse suites. Their unique lodging accommodations include a wide variety of amenities including air conditioning, en-suite baths, whirlpool tubs, kitchenettes and all the comfort that you deserve. Many of their rooms have views of water, making the Inn truly special!

Back Deck of the CottageFrom small affordable cozy rooms for two, up to spacious Penthouse Jacuzzi suites for couples, or families...this Inn offers the relaxed non-formal atmosphere you are looking for when you need to unwind! Whether it's for a family reunion (we take children in the bigger units located at one end of the building) or for a romantic get-away: or for that much needed independent escape...THIS is the right place! A 66' wrap-around deck graces the front facing the gardens where guests enjoy their complimentary breakfast...and there is a gas grill on the back deck for guest use. The Inn Gallery has plenty of tables for breakfast use, or MEETINGS FOR CORPORATE RETREATS.

The Last ResortA little bit of History: The Last Resort B&B Inn began when the building was constructed in 1883 by Civil War Captain Barney Dyckman as South Haven's very first resort Inn. It ran as a resort until 1959, when it was closed up and virtually abandoned for twenty years. The Inn was purchased and renovated from 1979 until its reopening in 1983, as South Haven's very first bed and breakfast Inn!  It is now open May 1st through October.   Read more in the Press Kit.
